100% Shiraz from Gemtree vineyards in McLaren Flat, McLaren Vale. The vineyard is fully certified biodynamic and lies at the base of the foothills that separate McLaren Vale from the Adelaide Hills. Vines are 30 years old and have a west facing aspect that looks back onto the ocean. Whole Bunch pressed to stainless steel and transferred to older French oak barrels toward the end of alcoholic fermentation. Barrels were lees stirred regularly to build texture into the wine. Barrels were topped regularly and allowed to rest for 6 months prior to bottling. Savoury, fresh and lite on its feet. The wine has just enough weight through the mid palate to support the racy natural acidity that gives this wine its life.
