    Trebbiano

From a 1976 vineyard at 530m with more sand, silt and clay than limestone. Predominantly Trebbiano. Direct pressed and settled before fermentation and ageing in 500L oak. No battonage, racked once after 12 months then bottled after 1 month in tank. Unfined, unfiltered, 13% ABV. A noticeable step up in fruit weight, depth and complexity. This is again fruit forward, with peach and marzipan notes and a rich and oily texture, though still fresh and light feeling. With a few hours of air this wine really opened up, some hazelnut and savoury characters appearing on the nose. It has the feeling of being more developed than the other wines, this is probably from the sand and clay influence, leading to a generally more open knit and beautifully aromatic wine.
