Basalt

    Riesling

This vineyard is the closest to the old basalt quarry. It has only a small soil layer above the rocky subsoil, which slopes slightly to the north. High ripeness and low yields give substance and real depth. The generosity of both palate and nose is typified by its unique tree fruit characters of nashi, pear and quince. Grapes picked and pressed to old barrels and amphora. Small so2 addition in the lead up to bottling.
