Maison Gautheron d'Anost

Maison Gautheron d'Anost France

Maison Gautheron d’Anost is located in Meursault, founded in 2020 by the young vigneron Bastien Gautheron. Bastien began his oenology training at just 15 years old and has since cut his teeth working for the great Olivier Leflaive in Puligny. Bastien sits firmly in the camp of young burgundy producers focused on translating the terroir without artifice, and follows a non-interventionist approach to winemaking, emphasising the connection between terroir and vineyard. In terms of viticulture, the Savigny and 50% of the Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune are from Bastien’s own vineyards, which have been certified organic since 2017. The other grapes come from trusted viticulturists (mostly friends of Bastien), practicing organic or similar methods. His winemaking philosophy involves simple vinifications, short macerations with some whole bunch for the reds, and ageing in high quality oak, with not more than 30% new, barriques for the reds and 350L barrels for the whites. His focus is on fruit purity and freshness, a hallmark of the younger generation of Burgundian stars.

We have been admiring Bastien’s work for a few years and are very proud to be representing his wines in Australia as they make an excellent case for the newer generation of this great region.
